Refresh the art in your home for Spring - tips by Holly Ward

Holly Ward is an interior design graduate turned arts writer and editor. She shares her tips for a Spring Refresh exclusively with Milsome Art and Prints:

Ah, January. The beginning of another new year. The champagne has stopped flowing, the festive chaos has calmed, the decorations are stored away for another year, and we are often left feeling a little uninspired in the wake of the holidays. This month tends to feel longer than most and if you are anything like us, you are already beginning to dream of the impending arrival of Spring - the season of chocolate eggs, pastel hues, bright botanical prints, and finally being able to leave the house again without a coat. While we sadly cannot guarantee the arrival of warmer weather any time soon, Milsome Art + Prints have the perfect works of art to transform your space and help you welcome the new season in style. I have searched through this expanding collection to bring you my top three picks of the season, which I'm positive will get you in the mood for the brighter days ahead and perhaps even inspire an early Spring clean!

Peony Garden Framed Giclée Print
Becky Blair, £325

Nothing quite says “Spring has sprung!” like this limited edition (number ten of 35) signed and framed print from British artist Becky Butler, featuring an assortment of peonies and wildlife against a beautiful backdrop in this striking shade of candyfloss pink. An absolute showstopper sure to get your guests talking, this print could be displayed alone as the perfect focal piece for any wall and be best highlighted when surrounded by shades of pastel decor, an assortment of soft, fluffy textiles, and plenty of greenery.

Muscari Flowers Framed Giclée
Brie Harrison, £75

This botanical piece from Suffolk artist and illustrator Brie Harrison is a surefire way to perk up any wall in your home, with the springtime-favourite flowers featuring at the front and centre of this visually striking work. Complete with a wooden box frame, this floral illustration would make a fantastic addition to any existing gallery wall in your home or could be featured on its own to add a burst of colour to your surroundings.

For an upbeat, playful take on spring decor, try hanging this print close to decorative accessories or textiles in varying shades of pink. Or, to achieve a more classic look, surround this print with neutrals and pearly white decor and let the art speak for itself!

On Top of the World Framed Print
Lisa Stubbs, £155

If the powdery pastel shades of Spring aren’t quite right for your home, this nature-inspired signed print by British artist Lisa Stubbs provides the perfect alternative. Featuring a bird peering out at the world from the top of a tree, this bold, hand-drawn piece would work wonderfully amongst more minimalistic and neutral shades of home decor while still incorporating the celebration of the new season and getting you in the mood for warm days out in nature. Hang this piece amongst monochromatic furnishings and place it near a vibrant floral bouquet to make a striking statement.
